Song Requests:

Once the band is through playing, we will turn on the stereo to keep the dancing going. What would you like to hear that would be fun to dance to? No disco allowed!

  1. Motown is always fun at weddings. Or maybe some '60s, '70s-era funk and soul music?

Jay-Z was a big hit at our wedding, but it kind of depends on the crowd.

  8. i expect to hear at least some gesture of a jug band cover of goth music, perhaps depeche mode, cure, the smiths, i would love to hoist butch on my shoulders for covenant's "i'm a happy man" and it could be super touching, i can really picture an awesome jugband version of love will tear us apart (though perhaps thematically a bit awkward, hahaha), young folks by pb&j, north american scum, and of course some hot chip - these are all songs that make me think of you guys because y'all introduced them to me. man, jugband covers of this stuff would be awesome, if it were possible. otherwise, some old crow medicine show is always good.

  9. Seeing as that the King of Pop just kicked the bucket, I think it only fitting that you incorporate a musical tribute into the reception...just think of what a wonderful, heart-warming experience it will be if we all get the opportunity to do the "Thriller dance" together.

  14. definitely Julia Nunes and Ben Folds please!
If you want I can provide disks and or digital tunes.
truth is I enjoy almost every kind of music and will certainly have fun.
In the spirit of blugrass I vote for Dave Grisman "Hot Dawg" and also
"Dawg Grass Dawg Jazz" also can provide these if you like.
    BIG LOVE, Abigail
